What I think of the Classes I took

• Math2a

  Math2a-Anal 2000 Prof. David Gabai Ma2a-Anal Web Site

  Math 2a Analytical was a fun and relatively easy class. It consisted of two parts - linear algebra and statistics. The linear algebra part was more straightforward than the statistics part, in which I think I learned more things. Prof. Gabai was a good lecturer. He also has a black belt in karate :-)...

  Math 2b was much better than Math 2a. The course was very well taught (go to lectures!), the homeworks were interesting, especially the ones that were not out of the book. The exams were at the level of the homeworks. I definitely learned a lot and had fun!

  I just decided to take this class. It sounds like an interesting continuation of Math 2. We'll see.

• Ma5a

  Math5a 2000 Prof. David Wales Math5a Web Site

  Math5a was a pretty tough course. It was very time consuming. But also very interesting, once you had the time to read the material. I love Sylow-p groups :). Anyway, aside from the many sleepless nights, it was fun. Prof. Wales is really fabulous.

  Math 5b was as great as Math 5a. The workload was similar. There's something about those 8 problems a week. I think one should rename Math 5 into Math 8 :-P. Anyway, I am a fan of groups, but rings and R-modules can be just as fine. Thanks to the great lectures, I think I did pretty well.

  Kechris is a good lecturer. This class will be good.

  Phys 2a 2000 Prof. David Goodstein

  Hmm. Well. I either slept through most of the lectures or didn't go to them. It's probably due to my lack of interest in physics. I spent a lot of time on the homeworks. Some of the quizzes were frightening and the final was not easy. But overall, it wasn't that bad. You have to go through it... core.

  Phys 2b 2001 Prof. Christopher Martin

  Phys 2b was more interesting and definitely easier than Phys 2a. If you know some linear algebra, you'll do fine. Thanks to the amazingly good quiz and final reviews of Aaron Eichelberger, one could survive :)
